Crispin Hellion Glover on the David Letterman show
On July 28, 1987, Glover appeared on Late Night with David Letterman[3] to promote his new movie River's Edge and his album. Dressed as his character from the film Rubin and Ed, he wore a long wig and platform shoes. His bizarre appearance was exceeded only by his strange behavior, which was thought by some to have been influenced by drugs, while others presume it was an Andy Kaufman-style stunt. After a failed attempt to challenge Letterman to an arm-wrestling match, Glover delivered an impromptu karate kick just inches from Letterman's face while shouting, "I'm strong... I can kick!". A noticeably irked Dave abruptly ended the segment and cut to commercial. Glover has later commented, on The Adam Carolla Show and Tom Green Live among others, that he neither denies nor admits any of the rumors surrounding the incident.

Crispin Hellion Glover "Clowny Clown Clown"
From Atomic TV Volume 6: "Scott's Obsessions": I've had a quite unhealthy obsession with Crispin Hellion Glover ever since I saw him in River's Edge. Rumor has it that after the movie wrapped they had to go back and film an extra scene, the scene where Layne falls asleep at the traffic light, in order for movie-goers to make sense of his odd character. The clincher was when I saw Glover's "I'm strong... I can kick..." David Letterman appearance and from that point on I was a fan for life. When I opened my store, Atomic Books, I contacted Volcanic Eruptions so that Crispin's book "Rat Catching" would be one of the first books I stocked on my shelves. A few years later I was able to see a workprint of his film "What Is It?" in D.C. along with his "Big Slide Show" presentation. Utterly amazing. And as the years have passed Glover has continued to take on quirky roles without cheezing out, even in "Charlie's Angels" he played a weirdo. Perhaps his most mainstream role was in "Where the Heart Is?" but Uma Thurman was in that movie, and she was nekkid, so I gotta still cut him some slack. Crispin Glover has remained my hero for almost 20 years, and when I met him he wasn't a dick, which gives him even more bonus points. A true gentleman.

Ta-Bo from Japan has more than 100 girlfriends [WindowsMedia]

Living Dolls: Japanese Men Like Their Women Really Subservient; Made Entirely Of Silicone.
We understand swearing off dating after a particularly bad breakup, but this is taking it a little far! Reuters has a video report up about the increasing number of Japanese men who forgo dating real women and take up with "love dolls". One 45-year old engineer, Ta-Bo, has dozens upon dozens of dolls, many of which are carefully arranged on his living room sofa patiently awaiting his return from work. (He says "hi" to them when he walks in!) Ta-Bo has spent over $170,000 on his collection (dolls can cost as much as $6,000 each) and owns dolls with various haircolors and facial features (some even have, eh, anime eyes!). Explains Ta-Bo:
A human girl can cheat on you or betray you sometimes but these dolls never do those things. They belong to me one-hundred percent.
Well, we guess love is love right? And on another positive note, at least Japanese men like Ta-Bo aren't buying comfort women from China anymore!
